ESTATES MASTER PLAN
Aside from enhancing our extensive sporting facilities, the Estates Master Plan will also improve teaching facilities, boarding and visitor experience across the site.
In September 2018 we plan to open the Nile Building, a six-classroom mathematics teaching block. The new building replaces the out-dated three-classroom geography teaching block and allows, for the first time, the Mathematics Department to have a single department area in the school which will bring clear advantages for collaboration and teaching and learning. Geography will be re-housed in China, which has three existing classrooms.
Subject to planning, in September 2019 we plan to open Woolwich House. Following the successful opening of Victoria House in 2017, this will be the School's 11th House and offer co-educational residential accommodation for Year 7 entrants to the School, allowing new residential students opportunity to settle into Gordon's life in a smaller and more bespoke environment.
Also subject to planning permission, in autumn 2019 we plan to open our Sports Hall next to the existing all-weather pitch. This significant and much-need investment will also include upgrading car parking and lighting on the north side of the estate and allow in 2020 the conversion of the school gymnasium to black-box performing arts area. There will also be a second 3G all-weather pitch in front of the Sports Pavilion.
