Inter-House Rowing Competition

Inter-House Rowing - new format proves a success!

The Inter-House rowing competition for both girls and boys took place during the week commencing Mon 23 February.

It was decided to change the format from a distance event to a time based event with the team covering the greater distance in the set time deemed as winners.

This system proved to be a success for both competitors as well as making it a more exciting competition for spectators.

The girls was a very close competition with half a point separating the overall winners from second place. China just managing to pip Windsor to the post. Indeed the competition was that close that in the Year 10 event both Augusta and Windsor finished their row on exactly the same distance, therefore sharing the points.

As far as the boys was concerned this proved to be a one horse race with Khartoum finishing as outright winners having won all age groups with the exception of Year 10, where they had to settle for second place.

The staff versus 6th Form event was re-introduced for both male and female categories. Unfortunately, youth came to the fore with both boys and girls beating the staff.

Well done to all who took part in what proved to be a very exciting competition.

We now look forward to the boys football and girls netball taking place on the morning of Saturday 7th March. Spectators are more than welcome.
