A thorough preparation for life through modern ideas and traditional values
Situated in 50-acres of beautiful grounds, Gordon’s is non-selective state boarding school, established in 1885 at the behest of Queen Victoria following the death of General Gordon in Khartoum. Founded on a rigorous academic and active curriculum with boarding, ceremony and pastoral excellence at its heart Gordon’s has developed into one of the leading schools in the country.
Officially listed as one of England’s outstanding schools by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, we are delighted that our examination results, university entrance record and diverse range of achievements outside the classroom consistently rank among the very best in the country; but real measure of our success is the calibre our students and staff.
Gordon’s is a vibrant, hard-working and friendly community; reinforced by a very special rapport between staff and students. All who visit are struck by the purposeful calm across the school, whether in the dining hall, a classroom, or on the playing fields; an understated attitude from students and staff who give their best, strive to do the right thing and know to let their achievements speak for themselves.
Foremost as parents, we wish our children to be lead fulfilled lives, enjoy healthy lifestyles and make a positive difference to the lives of others. At Gordon’s we wish no different. I want Gordon’s to be recognised as one of the finest schools in the world, not for our achievements, but the calibre of young people we help to develop.
