On March 19th the Music Department headed for the bright lights of Wimbledon Theatre to watch a performance of the smash hit West End musical comedy ‘Tonight’s the Night’, a show inspired by the songs of Rod Stewart. The students ( & staff! ) were in awe of the cast & band who sang & danced their way through the timeless classic songs including Maggie May, Baby Jane & Sailing! Our theatrical juices were flowing as we donned our paper hats which were provided to the audience for the Finale Medley and we rose to our feet swaying along in true concert style! An added bonus was for the students to meet the cast afterwards, grab an autograph or two & have their photographs taken with the stars of the show, which included Mrs Heathcote’s husband in the lead role! The students were also lucky enough to bump into John Plowman OBE (Producer of many television shows including The Office & Absolutely Fabulous) and once informed of the importance of this man in television history, they grabbed the opportunity to have a quick photo! A very showbiz ending to a wonderful evening!
