Achieving Success

Presented by: David Tinney - Head of Projects, Broadcast Services, at BSkyB

As part of our ongoing Insight Programme, David Tinney will be sharing his ‘tips for success’ with Year 10, Year 11 and 6th Form students in the Rec on Thursday 26th January 2012.

David is Head of Broadcast Services Projects at BSkyB. He is a Qualified Electronics Engineer and Fellow of the CIPD. He was Managing Director of an electronics manufacturing company for twelve years and is the author of The Advanced Power State, a book ‘designed to make you successful in life‘. David also teaches and coaches management and leadership.

David will talk about his experiences in the commercial world, with particular emphasis on communication, and also concepts such as negotiation (and understanding the right time to negotiate), problem solving (with the ability to turn positives into negatives), the ability to ask effective questions, and goal setting - all skills that are vital in our working and personal lives.
