On the 6th and 7th of February, the Gordon’s School debate team (Cerys, Sarah, Toyomo, Nonyem, Funlola,  James, Sophie, Georgina and Matt)  took part in their very first Model United Nations Conference. Representing Jordan and Portugal, pupils had to research their respective countries and represent their political, environmental and human rights concerns. Prior to the event, James and Sophie (Year 12) each submitted a resolution for debate. Both were successful in lobbying the committee and saw their resolutions submitted to the General Assembly.

 

We learnt a lot during our weekend and have already signed up for our next Conference! We are definitely MUN converts!
