In June, we held a Book Fair in the School Library. It was run entirely by a Young Enterprise team made up of pupils from Year 7 and Year 8 as part of the Business School of the Year Award scheme.

 

Everything in the Book Fair was on sale at half price, but even so the team managed to take over £900, which was a fantastic achievement and easily beat the totals made by teams in the previous 2 years.

 

The team organised all aspects of the Fair, from the opening ceremony with Mr Bodell cutting the ribbon, to organising rotas for helpers, taking the money and keeping accounts, to keeping track of stock flow.

 

It was a valuable business experience for the team involved, at the same time as promoting literacy and reading for pleasure across the school.
