As many of you are aware, Gordon’s School is in the process of applying to become an Academy.
The Consultation Phase closed on April 15th after 8 weeks and the last full parent and staff meetings took place on the 12th May 2011 - many thanks to all those who took the time to contribute to the dialogue.
The School received 5 expressions of concern, two letters from those undecided and one written communication supporting conversion; the attached Q&A document addresses the questions/concerns raised during the process.
Gordon’s is now in receipt of the Academy Order from the Secretary of State for Education, which enables the Funding Agreement to be drafted and the finer detail surrounding Gordon’s conversion to begin. After this, the final decision will rest with The Governing Body of Gordon’s School and The Gordon Foundation.
Many myths and misunderstandings have surrounded this process and I encourage you to take the time to read the attached Questions and Answers. Do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any unanswered questions.
